A DIY travel adaptor.
In preparation for going on a continental holiday, I purchased a universal travel adaptor having mislaid my old one. On reading the instructions I discovered that it is suitable for use in all European countries, North America and Australia. The one exception being Switzerland, the very country I was going to. I was not particularly impressed by the construction of the (2 pin) adaptor either. I discovered a suggestion on the internet that the best way was to purchase a Swiss to IEC lead when I got there. Further internet searches came up with a supplier in the UK, namely Reveal Cables in Newbury. Reveal also supply IEC cables for most other countries worldwide.
I then made up a short lead from an IEC free plug to a double 13A free socket. All I now have to do is take the adaptor along with the appropriate IEC lead(s). For use in North America a step up transformer will be required.
Reveal also a supply a wide range of audio, video and computer cables. Their web site is very informative and the address is www.revealcable.co.uk
